The Electrical Engineering Manager will play a key part in developing and implementing cutting-edge electrical systems for passenger rail vehicles manufactured in the U.S. You will lead the Electrical Engineering sub-department activities in all project phases from the concept to the validation and warranty phase, cost-to-complete analysis and capacity planning for the Electrical Engineering efforts across all projects, and support and organize further trainings to continue the development of a well-established, experienced and sustainable team.
Key Activities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and designers.
• Ensure projects meet technical requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FRA, APTA, IEEE).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure successful product development.
• Manage schedules, resources, and budgets for electrical engineering projects.
• Serve as technical lead and point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices within the electrical engineering function.
• Coordinate and plan resources for the Electrical Engineering sub-department for current and future US projects
• Create, establish and further develop engineering processes, guidelines and work instructions
• Participate in supplier negotiations and escalations
• Support sales and bid engineering during offer phases
QUALIFICATIONS
• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering• 8+ years as an Electrical Engineer
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience in the Railway Industry is preferred
• Proven management experience in an engineering team or department is preferred
• Excellent communication skills in an international working environment
