As a new faculty member, you will sharpen the research-based and practice-oriented profile of the IMK Institute of Multilingual Communication and share responsibility for leading the institute with its 50 employees.

Your role
- Participation in the School Management of the ZHAW School of Applied Linguistics
- Leadership and representation duties for the entire School
- Strategic management and further development of the institute across its four areas
- of activity: teaching, continuing education, research and business services
- Leadership of directly reporting research and administrative staff
- Practice-oriented teaching and research, preferably on multilingual communication in the context of artificial intelligence
- Internal and external networking of the institute at a national and international level
- Support and development of employees in the respective fields and in their professional advancement
Your profile
You hold a doctorate and have a compelling research profile, combining academic excellence with several years of practical experience in fields related to the IMK. You have solid experience in university teaching and research as well as the ability to develop content in innovative and practice-oriented ways.As an integrative leader with a modern, transformative leadership style, you inspire employees, foster self-efficacy and actively shape change processes. You rely on participation, strengthen teams in a targeted manner and create an environment that facilitates responsibility, creativity and continuous development. Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking guides your actions, particularly in strategic decision-making and collaboration in intercultural contexts.
With your strong international network and your familiarity with the educational landscape and professional fields of multilingual Switzerland, you represent the institute convincingly both internally and externally. You have an excellent command of German and English, complemented by at least one other language.
Joint applications from two individuals wishing to share the leadership role are also welcome. If the requirements are met, the conferment of the title of Professor is envisaged. The title is awarded by the Council of the Zurich Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts.
