HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Mechanical Engineer – Vehicle, you will be a member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces, and integrating train systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, manage and maintain weight distribution lists of railway vehicles
• Coordinate technical and project requirements regarding weight and center of gravity management between internal engineering teams, and suppliers.
• Support bid engineering with new vehicle concepts to meet minimum and maximum mass requirements
• Execute static and dynamic vehicle envelope calculations considering track geometry, vehicle movement and geometric constraints
• Support bid engineering by evaluating potential customer's track geometry and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with local, federal, and customer requirements
• Define procurement documentation, type testing, and commissioning documentation.
• Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles. Follow scheduling, budgetary goals and guidelines.
• Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering discipline.
• 0-2 (Level I), 2-5 (II), 5-8 (III), 8-10 (IV), 10+ (Sr.) years of relevant experience in railway, defense, automotive, aerospace or equal
• Experience with analytical calculations
• High attention to detail
• Independent and well-structured working methods
• Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
• Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus)
• Experience working in a PLM system (SmarTeam or TeamCenter is a plus)
• Fluent in English (both verbal and written). German is a plus!
